## SCAMPER in short

1. **Pick the target.** One process step or one root cause, not the whole process.
2. **Go letter by letter.** Spend 3 to 5 minutes on each question.
3. **Write every answer.** Even odd ones. One idea per line or sticky note.
4. **Mark the surprises.** Which ideas would you never have had otherwise?
5. **Add to the Long List.** Merge with your other ideas for evaluation in I2.
