Why the shopfloor comes first

The report is green. The machine just stopped for the third time this shift.

Most improvement programmes are planned in the meeting room and rolled out onto the floor. I start the other way round: by listening to the people who create the value, then giving them the tools, the training and the recognition they need. That is how strategy finally reaches the place where it has to work.

From the shopfloor to the training room, and back.

My roots are in supply chain management and operations. I spent years where value is created, in logistics and on the shopfloor, before I started training and coaching full time.

Since then I have trained and coached more than 7,000 professionals, from frontline teams to CI leaders and managers. Their improvement projects have saved more than €9 million.

What drives me: methods only matter when they hold up in daily work. That is why I combine Operational Excellence with coaching, so people don’t just know the tools, but use them with confidence.
